Rinku Singh pulled Arshdeep's delivery to the boundary
Harshit Rana's delivery took the age of Rajapaksa's bat and flew toward the first slip. KKR wicketkeeper Gurbaz attempted to take a flying catch. The ball recoated off his gloves but Gurbaz took it on the second attempt.
Punjab King's captain, Shikhar Dhawan, won the toss and elected to bat at the Eden Gardens. In the power play, they scored 58 runs but lost three top wickets in the process. Skipper Dhawan (57) put on a 53 runs partnership with Jitesh Sharma. Punjab struggled to get momentum until the last two overs when Shahrukh Khan and Harpreet Brar put on 36 runs. Shahrukh remained unbeaten at 21 and PSK stitched a fighting score of 179/7.
KKR came out to bat chasing a target 180 runs. Jason Roy gave a sound start scoring 38 runs. Captain Nitish Rana supported him with a fiery 51 runs. Andre Russell took the baton after Rana. He posted a cracking 42 packed with three sixes and three fours until he was run out leaving KKR to score two runs with one ball remaining. Rinku Singh (21*) pulled Arshdeep's delivery for a boundary giving KKR a win on the last ball. KKR with 10 points from five wins is now placed in the fifth position after 11 matches while Punjab with 10 points is in the seventh position playing the same number of games.
