Sania Mirza to start her 2nd innings, roped in by RCB as team's mentor in the inaugural Women's IPL

Sania Mirza has been appointed as the mentor for Royal Challengers' Bangalore's women's team. The official Twitter account of RCB confirmed the development on Wednesday.

In an interesting development of the forthcoming inaugural Women's IPL, Indian tennis icon Sania Mirza who said good bye to her career, participating in the Australian Open last month has been appointed as the mentor for Royal Challengers' Bangalore's women's team. The official Twitter account of RCB confirmed the development on Wednesday. “The pioneer in Indian sports for women, a youth icon, someone who has played Bold and broken barriers throughout her career, and a champion on and off the field. We are proud to welcome Sania Mirza as the mentor of the RCB women’s cricket team,” the RCB wrote. Sania however explained saying, "I was quite surprised by the offer to be a mentor. But I have been associated with professional sports for the last 20 years. I want to inculcate the belief in the next generation that sports can also be taken as a profession. I am looking forward to helping the younger generation."
