Vivek Nagul, who was recently appointed as the head of the coaches’ development program in the All India Football Federation (AIFF) might be selected as the Technical Director.

Mohun Bagan’s I-League winning coach Sanjoy Sen might be chosen as the chief national coach for the men’s national football team for the next two years.

Simultaneously, Vivek Nagul, who was recently appointed as the head of the coaches’ development program in the All India Football Federation (AIFF) might be selected as the Technical Director (TD) for the senior national team along with Sanjoy Sen.

It is believed that the AIFF, in its forthcoming executive committee meeting on 20th July is going to announce the names. After Igor Stimac was removed from the men's senior national coach's post, 291 coaches including some of the renowned names applied for the coach's post. Five names were shortlisted and Sanjoy Sen was one of them.

AIFF core-committee which was formed to scrutinize and select the final name wanted someone who should not be experienced only but also have experience working in Indian football for a long time.

Sanjoy Sen, even at 61 took up the challenge and acquired a Pro-license coaching degree. Isfaq and Mehrajuddin Wadoo were also in the same batch with Sen who acquired Pro-license coaching degrees and interestingly, both the footballers had played under Sen’s guidance at Mohammedan Sporting when his guidance helped Mohammedan Sporting to win the IFA Shield.

Isfaq, after completing the Pro-license commented, “Sanjay sir still has the thirst to learn new things. It was great to have him amongst us.”
