Saweety speaking over the phone from New Delhi on Sunday, divulged, "My mother was in fasting since the day World Championship began, spending most of the time every day in front of goddess images and praying for my success. She broke the fasting after I won the gold medal. How can I describe her sacrifice? Only mothers can do it and as her daughter, I feel I could fulfill her sacrifice at least to some extent being the World Champion."

Along with the mother's sacrifice, the 30-year-old boxer in the middleweight category also described Prime Minister Narendra Modi's congratulatory message and six-time World Champion Mary Kom's phone as precious gifts. Saweety added, "I was bewildered to have a congratulatory message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mary didi who has been the idol of our generation of boxers called me and inspired me a lot for the upcoming competitions. It was a great boost for me to have received her call." Saweety also was thankful to Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar for their congratulatory messages.

However, the journey was not at all easy for Saweety. Her father is a farmer and there was a time when the family was going through a severe financial crisis. Saweety has not forgotten anything. She remembered, "A section of my relatives and the people of our village Dighai criticized my parents vehemently for inspiring me and admitting me to the SAI center in Hisar to learn boxing. I was physically strong from childhood and aggressive too. I had beaten even many boys elder than me in school if they had done any mischief. So, I choose boxing naturally. But I will not ever forget the disdain and unkind words my parents had to listen to from the people around me at that time. My grandmother also supported me a lot along with my parents at that time."

Saweety has a significant feat. She acquired gold medals in her debuts in the state championship, the national championship, and the international competition in Youth Asian Championship in 2011. She has also participated in different weight categories from 57 to 81kg.
