People have seen her in the court, seen her win countless times however the 23-time major winner has first time appeared in the fan seat. Serena William, the 23-time Grand Slam champion, amazed the world with her first appearance in Flushing Meadows after she retired from tennis two years ago.

Throughout her career, she dominated the US Open and is entitled to 6 titles. She bid her farewell to tennis in 2022 after a hard-court Round 3 match against Australian Ajla Tomljanovic. But this time she was seen donning a denim jacket as a spectator and enjoying the match from a distance.

Serena met the World No. 1 Iga Swiatek at the player’s gym. Swaitek disclosed that her conversation with Serena inspired her. Swiatek was ecstatic to know the tennis legend was cheering for her win.

Late Swiatek revealed in the press conference that -  “It was really nice to see her. She has a lot of positive energy. It's nice that she came on-site and she was chatting with the players, because for me, yeah, I still felt, even though we met before and for like a couple of years we have been on the same sides and on tour together, she's still like star-striking me,”

"It was nice that she approached me, because I wouldn't, for sure, find courage to do that (smiling) if it was the other way. But, yeah, she's really nice and really positive. I'm happy that she's following tennis, you know, and, like, my game, because she told me that she's cheering for me. It's always nice to hear that from somebody like Serena.”
