Kolkata spun out RCB to register a fantastic win at home as they beat RCB by 81 runs. The spin trio shared the wickets among themselves. While Varun Chakravart took 4 wickts debutant Suyash Sharma, coming out as impact player, took 3 and Sunil Narine got 2 wickets.  
Earlier the home team was sent to bat when KKR lost three quick wickets until opener Gurbaz slammed a brilliant 57(44) runs and pairing with Rinku Singh brought back the home team to contest. After dismissal of Gurbaz and Russel back-to-back a brilliant show of Sardul Thakur 68(29) assisted by Rinku Singh 46 (33) helped KKR to pile a huge total of 204/7 in 20 overs. While Rahmanullah Gurbaz became the first player from Afganisthan to score a half century in TATA IPL, Rinku and Sardul also set a record partnership of 103 runs. Sardul Tahkur now holds the record of making joint fastest 50 along with Jos Buttler.
