Shilton played after a year, disappointed with the ground

Monday was Shilton's debut in the CFL Premier League this season after almost a year.

Mohun Bagan's I-league-winning custodian Shilton Paul was an additional attraction on Monday in his current team ASOS Rainbow's CFL Premier League match against West Bengal Police at Chinsura ground.

The former Mohun Bagan goalkeeper was recovering from an ankle injury that he suffered at the beginning of the League this season and Monday was his debut in the CFL Premier League this season after almost a year. The 35-year-old goalkeeper was the captain of his team on the day which defeated West Bengal Police 2-1 finally.

But Shilton seems quite disappointed with the ground his team was allotted to play. He regretted saying, "The IFA can think of allotting Premier Division teams to better grounds. The ground at Chinsura was in very poor condition.

Additionally, the dressing room condition was also awful. Today, there was no other CFL Premier League match. Our match could have been easily allotted to a better ground like Naihati, Barrackpore, or Kalyani." Commenting on his team's chances o reaching the Super Six phase Shilton opined it is tough. ASOS Rainbow has garnered 11 points from seven matches so far.
