Shocking ground condition forces Siliguri League to more uncertainty

The League was suddenly stopped by the local administrators due to this meeting on 4th December.

Kanchenjunga Stadium finally turned to garbage after Tuesday witnessed the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's meeting at the ground and as a reflection Siliguri Super Division League looks completely uncertain to resume. The League was suddenly stopped by the local administrators due to this meeting on 4th December.

With the pandal, a huge number of bamboo poles, and junk of garbage scattered across the ground the club representatives feel it is almost impossible to resume the football league from 29th December as Siliguri Krira Mahakuma Parishad was planning.

Significantly, most of the out-stationed footballers who were playing in the League with different teams have already left for their other engagements in the I-League third division and upcoming I-League second division.

According to one of the club representatives, it should take at least two to three weeks to restore the ground condition and then it will be extremely difficult for the clubs to field teams if the league resumes. Siliguri Super Division league was supposed to be over by 15th January.
