Shreyas Iyer remembers he last cried in the first practice session in the Champions Trophy!

Shreyas was one of India's best batsmen in the Champions Trophy, playing key knocks that enforced him as a reliable asset in the middle-order. With 243 runs in 5 innings.

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer, who played a key role in India's Champions Trophy triumph, remembered crying last during the first practice session in Dubai! Speaking on the Kandid with Kings show, Shreyas was asked when he last cried, and much to everyone's shock, Iyer remembered that he was in the utmost confusion, wondering how he could turn things around in conditions to which he was not accustomed.

"The last time I cried was during the Champions Trophy, first practice session. I was literally crying. I batted in the nets, and it did not go well. I was so angry with myself that I started crying. And I was also shocked at the fact that I don’t cry that easily,” he said.

But once the tournament began, Shreyas was one of India's best batsmen, playing key knocks that enforced him as a reliable asset in the middle-order. With 243 runs in 5 innings, he was India's leading run-scorer in the tournament, which India won undefeated. But when he landed in Dubai, Shreyas spoke about the struggles.

"I thought I would carry the same flow with me (from the England series), but the wickets were different and to adapt on the first day itself was an arduous task. When the practice ended, I wanted to practice a little extra and I did not get the chance to do it, so I got angry," he said.

Now leading Punjab Kings in the IPL he has started the tournament on a strong note as the team is showing all the promise to lay hands on the trophy for the first time in 18 years.
