Gujarat Titans opening batter Shubman Gill continued his purple patch in the Indian Premier League 2023, scoring his second successive hundred on Sunday. Gill's century powered the Titans to another victory in the competition and significantly compelled Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore to go out of the tournament. While wins and losses are part of the sport, a section of fans did not take RCB's loss well and started abusing Gill on social media. Even Gill's sister Shahneel was targeted by some fans, especially over her Instagram post after the match. 

"What a wholesum day," Gill's sister Shahneel wrote on Instagram while sharing a few pictures from the match. A number of fans wrote hateful comments on the post for both Shahneel and Shubman. Seeing the lewd comments for Gill and his sister, many fans took to Twitter and slammed those hurling abuse.
