Sourav Ganguly might be replaced from the Director of Cricket's post for team Delhi Capitals. The former Indian cricketer Venugopal Rao is likely to take up this position. 

According to the source, Sourav’s association with the team is not entirely over, he might be in charge of Delhi’s Women’s IPL team.

Previously, in 2019, Sourav was Delhi's mentor before becoming President of the Indian Cricket Board. After his tenure, he returned as Delhi's Director of Cricket in 2023.

Earlier, Ricky Ponting resigned from the head coach duty. Presumably, Hemang Badani will appear as the new coach of the Delhi Capitals. Both Badani and Venugopal Rao have previous connections with the team. They both were irreplaceable parts of the team during the International T20 in the UAE and Major League Cricket in the USA. This might be the primary reason that the franchise put their faith in them. 

However, official announcements from the team are yet to affirm either of their names.
