Spain will play host nation Germany in the quarterfinals on Friday in Stuttgart.

Spain, recovering from a goal down rout Georgia 4-1 to ensure a berth in the quarter-final of the ongoing Euro Cup at Cologne Stadium on Sunday midnight (Indian time).

Goals from midfielders Rodri and Fabian Ruiz brought Spain back into the game after Robin Le Normand’s early own-goal had given Georgia a shock lead. That was the first time Spain had conceded in the tournament.

Nico Williams took the game out of Georgia's reach by scoring on a brilliant counterattack in the 75th minute and Dani Olmo’s fourth and concluding goal sealed opposition’s fate eight minutes later.  Still, Georgia custodian Giorgi Mamardashvili’s outstanding performance cannot be forgotten as he made nine crucial saves, rescuing George from the humiliation.
