Spirited Calcutta Customs earned full three points with a 2-1 victory against Mohammedan Sporting in a Super-Six stage match of the ongoing CFL Premier Division at Bankimanjali Stadium, Naihati on Sunday.

Ravi Hansda and experienced striker Ujjal Howladar struck for the winners. Customs shrugging off the initial pressure from Mohamedan Sporting for the first 15 minutes were dominant for the first 45 minutes. They could have increased scoreline during the period had not the chances created, squandered.

Under the leadership of Aman Rasheed, the midfielder from Kerala, Customs broke the opposition barrier several times. Ujjal Howladar and Ravi Hansda were also agile upfront. Mohammedan Sporting bounced back after the break, trying to earn possession. Suraj Rajwar reduced the margin for them in the 71st minute.

Still, the Customs defense looked inspired and they did not give up. Customs, with the win, have garnered 24 points after their 13th match in total while Mohammedan Sporting are stuck at the sixth position in the Super-Six round with 22 points so far.

East Bengal, Diamond Harbor, and Bhawanipore FC are standing in the first three positions in the League table, respectively.
