Srikkanth blasts BCCI for ignoring Ruturaj

Ruturaj is currently the highest run-scorer in the ongoing IPL with 509 runs while Gill is in the 13th spot with 320 runs.

Legendary Indian cricket team batter Krishnamachari Srikkanth blasted BCCI over ignoring Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

Ruturaj did not find a place in the India squad despite good performances in the ongoing IPL and Srikkanth was not happy with BCCI adding Shubman Gill to the reserve list.

Srikkanth accused the team management of 'favouritism' and said that Gill seems to get chances even when he is not performing in any format.

Ruturaj is currently the highest run-scorer in the ongoing IPL with 509 runs while Gill is in the 13th spot with 320 runs. “Shubman Gill is totally out of form, but why he's selected in the team. There's no doubt that Ruturaj Gaikwad deserves a place. He scored more than 500 runs in 17 innings. Also he scored a century against Australia.”

He continued, "Shubman Gill is selectors' delight. He gets chance even if he fails. He finds place even if he fails in Test, ODIs and T20s.There's too much of favoritism in selection. The team selection is all about favouritism," Srikkanth said in a video on his YouTube channel.
