Steve looks forward to I-League two, and plans to propose to rope in a couple of experienced midfielders

Steve Herbots, the Belgian coach of United SC has started doing research work for the team’s next venture, second division I-League, likely to be held in January next year.

United Sports finished their engagement in the ongoing CFL Premier League on Monday with 19 points from 12 matches, scoring 13 goals in the last three League matches.

Steve commenting on the preparation for the second division I-League explained, "The boys who played in the CFL are fantastic footballers. They dished out an excellent exhibition of football throughout the League. That is why, the boys were able to create chances even against strong teams like Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan Sporting, Peerless, and Diamond Harbour FC. Only the boys lacked the maturity which could help them to change the complexion of the game and conversion ability."

Steve feels he will need a couple of experienced midfielders before the second division I-League.

He explained, “Once we had footballers like Tanmoy Ghosh, Pralhad Roy, Basudeb Mandi. You had Tarak Hembram, but as he will represent Neroca FC in the coming I-League we are not getting him in the second division I-League. You need a couple of experienced midfielders who can change the complexion of the game especially, against a strong team.”

Before submitting his proposal, Steve will conduct a thorough research on the footballers across the country, especially of those teams in the CFL as well as the teams of other states.

He concluded, "Not only me, the club's other coaches will also have a team list we will sit together with the club. They are also expected to submit new names. Then only the final decision regarding the team will be made.”
