Steve’s teaching and Nabab’s encouragement are the boosts for Tarak to perform in Neroca

Representing Neroca FC will be Tarak Hembram's debut in I-League

Tarak Hembrom, the mainstay in the United SC midfield has represented the state a couple of times. He has even donned India shirts in the under-15 category. But this will be his first progress in the field of mainstream Indian club football.

The 22-year-old hard-working and crafty midfielder has been roped in by Manipur’s premier team, Neroca FC to take part in the I-League this season. Hembram who scored five goals in the CFL Premier Division this season sounds quite thrilled to have obtained the opportunity.

He uttered spontaneously, “I must have to prove my mettle in the training so that I can get into the first eleven and play in the matches. My aim is to draw the attention of the ISL team recruiters."

When asked whether he is taking any mental preparation, Tarak did not hesitate to reveal, “My key strength before entering the practice session in Neroca will be whatever I learned from Steve sir in last two years and the continuous encouragement from Nabab Bhattacharya.”

Tarak is a product of United SC youth development, staying with the club for almost 10 years. He divulged, “We improved a lot on technique in last two years under Steve sir's guidance. Our passing, off-the-ball play, ability to deliver accurate final passes, and ability to cover a wide area on the field have improved a lot. These are the basics that I need to master and exhibit wherever I play. I feel it will help me a lot while training in other teams under new coaches.”

Commenting on Nabab’s encouragement Tarak stated, “Nabab sir advised me to maintain discipline and not to do any such behavior which helps the club to blame me. Then it will be a shame for United SC also. I must have to maintain that."

Tarak was one of the United SC footballers who was alleged of participated in 'masala matches' this season. He admitted saying, “I took part in one or two ‘masala matches’ for some additional earnings. But the footballers should avoid if they want to build up their career.”
