Sreebhumi FC is also building up a formidable women's side for the elite IWL this season. According to the president, foreign footballers from Ghana and Nigeria are likely to bolster the team

Sujit Bose is elated with the promotion of Sreebhumi FC to the CFL Premier Division next year. The club president, also the state’s fire minister watched his team’s 3-0 victory in the team’s concluding First Division match against City FC on Monday and revealed while speaking to Parallel Sports on Tuesday at his residence, “I still remember one of the goals that was scored from a brilliant free-kick. Our football team began their journey in 1992.”

“After 32 years we earned the qualification to take part in the CFL Premier Division next season, creating an opportunity to play with Kolkata’s three big giants. It is a great pleasure for me.”

But despite the jubilation, Bose does not seem satisfied with the team's advancement to the CFL Premier Division. He dreams of watching Sreebhumi FC playing in the I-League and even in the ISL. "We have to go a long way and as I love to see dreams I would love to watch the team playing in the I-league and even in the ISL in future," disclosed the club president.

Simultaneously, he mentioned his women's football team which is the debutant in the elite Indian Women's League (IWL). “I got excited when our women's football team won second division IWL and earned qualification for the elite IWL last year."

"I feel it is also a noticeable achievement as several women footballers like Rimpa Halder, and Moushumi Murmu have represented women's Bengal and even the Indian women's team in recent times. I feel this is also a success and the achievement has not come easily.”

"I must thank those people the club secretary Rakesh Jha Moon, the coaches of both men's and women's teams, Ranjan Bhattacharya and Sujata Kar, respectively, whose hard-work has immense contribution to this success,” explained Bose.

Sreebhumi FC is also building up a formidable women's side for the elite IWL this season. According to the president, foreign footballers from Ghana and Nigeria are likely to bolster the team along with a couple of Indian international footballers like Bala Devi will be strengthening the team.

Bose also disclosed his another dream. That is his long-awaited academy for both boys and girls "Sreebhumi FC football academy will one day produce footballers of international standard one day. They will glorify Bengal and India and that day I will be probably the happiest person that day," concluded Bose.
