The captain of the senior national football team Sunil Chhetri’s wife Sonam, the daughter of former India international Subrata Bhattacharya has given birth of a baby boy at a nursing home in Bangalore on Wednesday morning. According to reports given by the nursing home authority both Sonam and her son are well. Sonam was plagued by Dengue during the pregnancy. 

Sunil Chhetri also requested the chief national coach Igor Stimac for some days’ during this time and he has been rested from the national team for the forthcoming King’s Cup in Thailand from 7th to 10th September.
