Hugo Boumous, Mohun Bagan Super Giants’ Moroccan midfielder is going to face an ‘acid test’ in the forthcoming Kalinga Super Cup to be held in Odisha this month. 

Even though Boumous is contracted with MBSG till 2026 and has reportedly expressed a desire to continue with the team till 2026, it has been learned his performance in the Super Cup will be minutely tested by the team management. 

It is also learned that the team management is not happy with Australian World Cupper Jason Cummings' recent performance. 

If both the footballers fail to deliver an impressive show in the Super Cup then MBSG might plan to replace them for the remaining part of the ISL. 

However, Antonio Habas who returned to MBSG as chief coach replacing Juan Ferrando has reportedly proposed the team management to rope in a couple of footballers during the ongoing transfer window.
