Syndrela Das, the country's top-ranked female paddler from Kolkata has won gold in the under-15 girls' category in the WTT Youth contender at Lignano, Italy. She defeated India’s Divyanshi Bhowmick in the final while she claimed the bronze medal in the under-17 girls' category losing to Elisa Pujol of France in the semi-final. 

Before playing in Italy, Syndrela took part in another WTT Youth Contender in Hungary and claimed bronze in the under-17 girls’ category. The competition was held at Szombathely. 

Syndrela whose medal tally in international competitions reached 17 this year has the ultimate dream of representing India's women's team and winning medals in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
