One of the key members of Premier Division winning Mohammedan Sporting this season, Tanmoy today can relish while remembering his every day's four-hour journey (up and down via train) from Khamargachi has finally paid off, settling him as a key man in a big team like Mohammedan Sporting.
He has his mother’s tattoo on his right hand. His mother and father are his inspirations for every moment. Tanmoy revealed, “I have been getting limitless support from my parents and other family members althrough.”
Tanmoy is already quite experienced as a footballer. He represented East Bengal in the under-18 I-League and played for Wari AC in the First Division before being picked up by Santosh Trophy runner-up Bengal’s former coach Ranjan Bhattacharya for George Telegraph. His performance guided him to play in the I-League wearing Gokulam FC shirts last season and finally returned to Mohammedan Sporting.
Tanmoy expressed utmost thankfulness to Ranjan Bhattacharya. He said, “Ranjan sir deserves all the credit for my promotion to the next level from a First Division team to a Premier Division team, George Telegraph. His encouragement and advice on how to improve the game helped me to develop and settle as a midfielder. I started playing as a striker. Even I was one of the strikers at Wari AC. Ranjan sir’s observation changed my position and his nurturing helped me to become a midfielder.”

Tanmon loves to play as a box-to-box midfielder and Barcelona legend Xavi is his idol. He added, “I often watch the video of his matches, dream of developing the passing ability he possessed.”
In a bid to develop his endurance and strength Tanmoy also practices physical training under Sukanta Banerjee, the coach at Aadamas University whenever he gets time.”
Tanmoy whose aim is to don India shirts and play in the ISL is now focusing on I-League.
