The Black Panthers rope in ISL-defender, appeal for more security, and welcome Chernyshov

Irshad represented North East United FC for two seasons.

In a bid to strengthen its defensive organization, Mohammedan Sporting has roped in an experienced defender who played in ISL and the I-League. He is Mohammed Irshad who took part in ISL for North East United FC and participated in the I-League last season with Gokulam FC.

Due to registration problems, Irshad will not be able to take part in the ongoing CFL Premier Division. But he is going to be one of the regular footballers in the I-League. Irshad represented North East United FC for two seasons. He also donned East Bengal and Round Glass Punjab shirts in the I-League.

Mohammedan Sporting’s current coach Shahid Ramon also agreed to the point that the defensive organization faltered against the Army Red.

Incidentally, the club officials who made an appeal to the IFA to increase security measures in their next CFL match on 4th September, are planning to increase the height of the fencing by installing nets over the fencing.

One of the club’s senior executives commented on the issue, “We are planning to install nets on the fencing before our next match on 4th September and simultaneously made an appeal to the IFA to increase security measures. The height of the fencing can only be increased by the PWD department. We do not have the right to do this."

However, Andrew Chernyshov arrived in the city on Friday. The Russian coach who was already in charge of the team in 2021 is likely to start training soon.
