The fourth edition of the UTT league is set to start in July with top Indian paddlers

The tournament will be held at Pune. Bengaluru Smashers will be the new entrant in the franchise-based league.

Top Indian players will be back in action in the Ultimate Table Tennis League (UTT). The tournament is scheduled to be held from 13th to 30th July at the Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune.

The tournament is set to return after a break of three years. Bengaluru Smashers will be the new entrant in the franchise-based league. The tournament will be sponsored by Niraj Bajaj and Vita Dani.

UTT chairperson said, “We are delighted to announce the return of the UTT league. There was a halt due to Covid. After three years our effort to grow and popularize the sports in India will continue.” The tournament is held under the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) since its inception in 2017.

Besides Bengaluru Smashers, U Mumba TT, Puneri Paltan Table Tennis, Goa Challengers, Dabang Delhi TTC, and RPSG Mavericks Kolkata will be participating in the tournament. Chennai Lions, who were the champions in 2019, will not be a part of the tournament.

The league has brought to the limelight players like Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, Manav Thakkar, Sutirtha Mukherjee, and Manik Batra. TTFI is happy to encourage the league.

TTFI president Megha Ahlawat and Secretary-General Kamlesh Mehta said in a joint statement, “UTT has put India in the World map by hosting a world-class event and attracting some finest players of the world.”

The league was last played in Delhi in 2019 where Chennai Lions, led by Sharath Kamal, won the title. The second edition was won by Dabang Delhi TTC, led by Manika Batra and Sathiyan. In the inaugural edition, Falcons TT were the champions.
