IFA secretary Anirban Dutta is planning to send Sahil Harijan’s spectacular goal to Fifa for the nomination for the 'Puskas Award' this year. He commented, “I have seen the goal. It was a superb strike no doubt.” The IFAS secretary has already sent Saikat Sarkar’s goal to Fifa for nomination for the 'Puskas Award'. 

Sahil Harijan who scored twice on Wednesday in their team’s concluding group league match of the CFL Premier Division against Southern Samity in Durgapur, scored a mesmerizing goal through the right-footed side-volley, reminding the Brazilian striker Recharlison’s brilliant right-footed side volley against Serbia in Qatar World Cup last year. 

Pathachakra finished their CFL Premier Division engagement on the day, earning a convincing 4-1 victory against Southern Samity to earn seven points in 12 matches. 

Along with Harijan’s double strike, Soumitra Kar Dey and Surajit Ghosh scored the winners while Srikumar Karjee reduced the margin for Southern Samity.

Lal Kamal Bhowmick, the coach who helped beleaguered Pathachakra to revive some confidence amid the League, had also the same appreciation for Harijan, “He tries to unleash bicycle kicks or similar side volleys in the training also. 

He has a lot of prospects to settle as a quality striker in the future only if he is dedicated and can avoid playing 'masala’ matches.” 

In another CFL Premier Division league match, Kalighat MS defeated Tollygunge Agragami 2-0. Sourav Shabbar and Sayif Ali Mullick scored for the winners. 

Incidentally, in the first-ever CFL Premier Division match held in Durgapur on the day, the crowd response was incredible. Around 10 thousand spectators rushed to the ground to witness the match. Along with IFA secretary Anirban Dutta, Former India internationals Gautam Sarkar, Samaresh Chowdhury, Sumit Mukherjee, and Bikash Panji were present in the match.
