Mohun Bagan Super Giants earned a thumping victory against Mohammedan Sporting Club, on 3 September at the Yuva Bharati Stadium. To celebrate, the fans launched a special initiative ahead of Durga Puja called "Rokte Amar Mohun Bagan," through which they will donate clothes, food, and financial aid to the club canteen workers and underprivileged children.

Former Mohun Bagan legends Manas Bhattacharya and Subrata Bhattacharya have praised this noble effort by the Mariners, and they will also be present as chief guests at this unique celebration.

Previously, the supporters dubbed the match a ‘Mini Derby’ sparked significant sledging between both the team’s supporters as well as spectators. Just before the match Mohammedan’s top official further fueled the situation by calling the Mariners “opportunistic" in various ways.

However, on the field, the Mariners sailed through the field effectively shutting down the criticism. On the 5th of October, after Mohun Bagan won the match the supporters started their celebration amidst the heavy downpour. During this celebration one of the supporters announced the “Rokte Amar Mohun Bagan” initiative and doubtlessly others agreed.
