The new gym named after the late PK Banerjee inaugurated, the dispute rose over EB complaint against MB secretary

Coach Sankarlal Chakrabarty was also felicitated for his 'AFC Pro-license' degree.

Mohun Bagan opened its new gym named after legendary player and coach late P.K Banerjee on Friday at the club premises. The gym was inaugurated by R.N Singh, the chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation and Banerjee's elder daughter Pala Banerjee. Coach Shankarlal Chakrabarty was also felicitated for his 'AFC Pro-license' degree. Former stars like Subrata Bhattacharya, Pradip Chowdhury, Manas Bhattacharya, Shyam Thapa, and Jose Ramirez Barreto graced the occasion.

However, on the same auspicious day, East Bengal Club executives, in a media conference accused Mohun Bagan's secretary Debashis Dutta of his interference and instigating comments against the red-and-gold regarding the club officials' relationship with the investors in recent times.

One of the executive committee members, Rajat Guha said in the media conference, "Mohun Bagan secretary has made several instigating and malicious comments against the club's top and senior executives in recent times. Even, the Bagan secretary had informed one senior Emami Group executive that the agitation which was made by a section of East Bengal fans was organized by one of East Bengal's senior and top officials. We are strongly protesting against this kind of behavior. We on the contrary have never blamed Mohun Bagan's top brass on any issue. We want both the century-old clubs to maintain a sporting relationship between them and the battle should be confined within the game."

Bagan's secretary denying East Bengal's complaints said, "I have never done this kind of act the East Bengal officials are complaining of. I have a good relationship with East Bengal's top brass personally. I will be the happiest person if East Bengal and Mohun Bagan face in the ISL final next year. I have only one opinion that East Bengal should also concentrate on team-building and the relationship with their investors so that they can build up a strong team for the coming ISL."
