The success of Titas Sadhu is inspiring Satyam Roy Chowdhury. Titas who was one of the students at Techno India Group Public School in Chinsurah returned to her alma matter and felicitated with the gift cheque for Rs 1 lakh on Friday.
Satyam Roy Chowdhury, the Managing Director of Techno India Group as well as the chancellor of Sister Nivedita University, is excited about the outstanding performance Titas dished out in the Under-19 Women's T-20 World Cup including the grand final and at the same time buoyed by her success, Roy Chowdhury is planning to nurture women's cricket in a way where more potential women cricketers can be produced in future.
Interestingly, Roy Chowdhury has already taken initiative to introduce a University on sports. The University will not only have courses and degrees in sports. Rather it will have its practical classes through a scientific and modern training system.
Roy Chowdhury, speaking to Parallel Sports said, "I feel proud that Titas was one of the students of TIGPS, Hoogly. Her performance in the Under-19 Women's T-20 World Cup has inspired me to think of exploring more women cricketers of the future. In our University world-class infrastructure and training system will be imparted. I also have plans to involve legendary women cricketers like Jhulan Goswami, and Mithali Raj in this project where they can guide the budding women cricketers."
