The Shield this year organized by the Bangadut Sporting Club, Sydney is going to take place more gorgeously. The one-day competition will be held on 16th September at Granville. Eight teams will take part and two teams wearing Mohun Bagan jerseys will be fielded by the name of Satyajit Chatterjee XI and Chuni Goswami XI. Three teams wearing East Bengal jerseys will enter the field by the name of the late Krishanu Dey XI, Bhaichung Bhutia XI, and Manoranjan Bhattacharya XI. 

The president and one of the seven-member executive committee members Judhyajit Choudhuri reveled, “This time we received huge encouraging wish messages through the videos sent by AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey, former Indian skipper Bhaichung Bhutia and present senior national team’s assistant coach Mahesh Gawali. 

All three sports personalities in their wish messages have encouraged Bangadut organizers and asked local people to watch the competition. 

Judhyajit added, “We have received more financial assistance this time. That is why the number of teams has been doubled.”

The seven-man executive committee members are Judhyajit Choudhury, Debdeep Panigrahi, Arpan Majumder, Subhashis Das, Sayan Raha, Souvik Halder, and Abhishek Mitra. 

The Shield will be telecast on the You Tube channel of Parallel Sports.
