Three countries want to host the 2030 World Cup jointly
Four Latin American countries have expressed their intention to stage the World Cup finals in 2030. They are Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. These four countries have already submitted bids for the mega event, slated in 2030.
The announcement was made by the national football federations of these four countries in presence of Alejandro Dominguez, president of the South American Football Confederation (CONMABLE).
The 2030 World Cup will be the 100th edition of the World Cup as the first World Cup finals were staged in 1930. Fifa will select and allocate the event finally in 2024. Argentina hosted the World Cup in 1978, and Chile in 1962. Paraguay has never hosted a World Cup.
These four countries will have to fight with Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 World Cup. These two European countries have also submitted their bids to organize the 2030 World Cup finals. It is believed that Morocco and Saudi Arabia may also join the race.
