Travis Head, the Australian batter, has often haunted India with his stellar performances. However, in the recent interview, the batter attributed his performance to his changed lifestyle.
His recent 448 runs in the Border-Gavaskar series were instrumental in Australia’s triumph, solidifying his reputation as a dependable match-winner.
Recently disclosing the secret to his form, he revealed a lifestyle change that improved his focus and fitness. “I haven’t touched alcohol for three months. I exercised self-control and focused entirely on cricket. I didn’t think about anything else besides the game. That discipline has paid off. I’ve felt much fresher, improved my fitness, and enjoyed the game more,” said Head.
Australia is set to face Sri Lanka in a two-Test series on their soil before the World Test Championship final. Head, however, admitted that the gruelling five-Test series against India has left him fatigued.
With a 12-day break before heading to Sri Lanka, he hinted at relaxing his strict regimen. “I’m not sure what I’ll do. We have 12 days off before heading to Sri Lanka. I might indulge in some drinking again. After five Tests against India, I’m feeling fatigued. I’ll need to shake off that exhaustion. So, before returning to cricket, I’ll take some time to relax and have fun,” he remarked.
