Trisha Gongadi became the first centurion of the ICC Women’s Under-19 T-20 World Cup 2025, reaching the milestone in just 53 balls in a Super Six match against Scotland on Tuesday.
This is also the first-ever hundred in Women’s U-19 World Cup history. The right-handed batter achieved the feat during India's Super Six match against Scotland, which is currently underway at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
The 19-year-old crossed the 100-run mark with a single on the last ball of the 18th over, which was bowled by Scotland spinner Maisie Maceira.
She needed 53 balls to score 100 runs. Trisha remained unbeaten on 110 runs from 59 balls and helped India post a total of 208 runs on the board for the loss of one wicket in 20 overs.
During her stay at the crease, Trisha hammered 13 fours and 4 sixes. She added 147 runs for the first wicket with G Kamalini (51 runs from 42 balls) in 13.3 overs and 61 for the second wicket with Sanika Chalke (29 runs from 20 balls).
“I am very happy," Trisha said about her performance during the mid-innings interview.
