In a bid to educate the district coaches Indian Football Association (IFA) has decided to conduct a workshop on coaches’ education in Bengal from 16th to 19th December. 

The venue for the workshop although has not yet been finalized, might be in a district like Midnapore or Purulia and around 20 district coaches might be called up to attend the workshop.

Significantly, the coaches will be guided by Sinisa Jelic, a UEFA Pro-license coach and instructor from Serbia. Jelic also worked as the coach of the Serbian national team previously.

IFA secretary Anirban Dutta, when asked on the issue said, "Our purpose is to rebuild the supply line of potential youth footballers from the districts across the state and unless the district coaches, especially those who are working in the grass-route and youth level, gain the advanced knowledge on coaching they will not be able to produce quality youth footballers.” 

Mumbai-based Pro-licensed coach Moloy Sengupta who initiated to convince Jelic to guide the coaches will also assist him in the program. 

Sengupta said, "The coaches who will be attending the workshop will have a great opportunity to learn the advanced coaching program from Jelic. I am glad that I have at least some contribution to the development of Bengal football."
