'Unsung hero' Ravindra Jadeja took India close to the victory against New Zealand in last World Cup

Chasing 241, India was reduced to 92 for 6 before Jadeja slammed four boundaries and maximums each to score 77 off 59 deliveries before getting dismissed in the 48th over.

Ravindra Jadeja holds the key with both the bat and the ball for Team India as they prepare to take on New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai today for the first semi-final of the Men's ODI World Cup.

The all-rounder has been a bankable option in the middle overs with the ball for skipper Rohit Sharma, having taken 16 wickets in nine games at an economy rate of 3.97.

Nostalgia will kick in for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star in the upcoming clash, having played a prominent role in taking India close to the finishing line in their loss in the last-four clash against the Kiwis in the ODI World Cup 2019. Chasing 241, India was reduced to 92 for 6 before Jadeja slammed four boundaries and maximums each to score 77 off 59 deliveries before getting dismissed in the 48th over.

Prior to the clash at Wankhede, Jadeja has revealed that he watches that innings multiple times to draw inspiration whenever he is battling a low phase.

"I think obviously in 2019, when I played a good innings against New Zealand in semi-final, it was my best memory. I have seen video clips of that innings many times. Whenever I am in doubt or not in good form, I watch those highlights and it gives me confidence, ideas where I can improve, and what needs to be done whether it is in batting or bowling," Jadeja said in a video posted by International Cricket Council (ICC).
