
Cleiton Silva scores the consolation goal in the dying minutes of the match
Upsetting the fans, East Bengal FC lost to Kerala Blasters 1-2 at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) clash on Saturday.
Kerala Blasters's Japanese forward Daisuke Sakai scored a stunning strike to give Kerala Blasters the all important lead in the 32th minute of the game. He put the ball at the bottom right corner of the net with the assistance of Adrian Luna. East Bengal created a few opportunities but they were unable to level the score in the first half because they lacked the finish in the final third.
In the second half of the game East Bengal FC amped up their game as they were in dire need of an equaliser. In the 82nd minute of the game, EBFC had a chance through a penalty that was retaken, but captain, Cleiton Silva failed to convert it as Kerala keeper Sachin Suresh successfully saved the penalty twice.

Kerala Blasters scored the second and winning goal in the 86th minutes after a weak defensive play by East Bengal. Dimitrios Diamantakos found the back of the net with a splendid strike but was sent off in the very next minute by showing second yellow card for taking off the jersey in celebration.
In the last few minutes of the game, Cleiton Silva successfully converted a penalty and scored the consolation goal for EBFC. However, their efforts were in vain as Kerala Blasters clinched all the points and moved on top of the league.
