Despite losing in the semifinal against the world's second-ranked shuttle player Victor Axselsen, the Danish star had heaped praise on his Sunday’s opposition.
“He is an amazing player,” Viktor Axelsen said after an epic come-from-behind win over Lakshya Sen at the Paris Games on Sunday.
Talking about his thrilling encounter, Axelsen admitted that the semi-final clash was the toughest match for him at the Paris Games. The defending champion also backed the Indian shuttler for gold. Axelsen asserted that in four years, Lakshya will become a gold medal contender at the Olympics.

Meanwhile, Lovlina Borogohain fell to a defeat against China's Li Qian in the women's 75kg quarter-final, on Sunday, ending India’s boxing campaign in Paris Olympics.
Boxer Nishant Dev also lost his 71kg quarter-final bout to Mexico's Marco Verde. Meanwhile, in sailing, Nethra Kumanan finished the day in 24th position after six races in women's dinghy. Vishnu Saravanan was 23rd after six races in men's dinghy.
