Ancelotti also admitted, responding to media queries that the forward is considering his future with the club
Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted Vinicius Junior held a meeting with the president Florentino Perez to discuss his situation at the club as La Liga's latest racism storm continues to rage on.
Significantly, the Brazilian star was allegedly subjected to racist abuse from Valencia fans before and during their 1-0 defeat on Sunday and is now seriously planning to make an 'exit' from Spain. Ancelotti also admitted, responding to media queries that the forward is considering his future with the club.
He was sent off in stoppage time after reacting angrily to Valencia's Hugo Duro and now faces a ban, despite appearing to have been on the receiving end of horrendous racist insults inside the stadium throughout the game.
Ahead of their match with Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday, Ancelotti confirmed that the attacker had spoken with Florentino Perez after requesting a meeting with the president in the aftermath of the racism row, which continues to divide Spanish football.
The Italian boss insisted that Vinicius enjoys playing for the club and also lifted the lid on how he and his team-mates reacted following Sunday's game. "Vinicius met with Florentino Perez yesterday, he knows he is supported by the club and team-mates," he told reporters in a news conference.
Ancelotti added, "Of course I talked to him after the game. He was obviously very sad but could realize that the football fraternity across the world stood beside him. The support is not coming only from Real Madrid. He has received it from his rivals, his team-mates, and football legends. So in this respect he has become calm."
According to The Athletic Vinicius is 'considering his future' at the club, having been repeatedly targeted for racist abuse this season and prior to that as well. Shortly after the incident, he released a statement blasting Spain as a "country of racists", leading to suggestions he could demand a transfer.
