It is learned that after Manipur’s home minister expressed discontent over the staging of these two teams’ home matches in the I-League in Manipur, the clubs have made such plans.
The ethnic violence in Manipur which has not ended yet is likely to compel the state's two premier clubs, participating in the I-League this season to shift to another state to set their home matches.
I-League this season is scheduled to start in November and two premier Manipur clubs, Neroca FC and TRAU FC are planning to shift to Bengal to play their home matches.
It is learned that after Manipur’s home minister expressed disagreement over the staging of these two teams’ home matches in the I-League, the clubs have made such plans. The ethnic violence which paralyzed human life and activities in Manipur for the last five months has decreased but not fully.
It is learned that Neroca FC had already an informal discussion with Kalyani Municipality regarding the issue and Neroca FC has reportedly received a verbal confirmation from Kalyani Municipality to set their home matches in the I-League at Kalyani Stadium ground.

However, TRAU FC also is reportedly planning to shift to Bengal to host their home matches in the I-league. It is learned they had initial talks with Mohammedan Sporting to host their home matches in the I-League. But uncertainty looms large over the staging of I-league matches at Mohammedan Sporting Ground due to the lack of proper fencing of the galleries.
The Kolkata club promised the I-league committee about the security issue by increasing the fencing heights and appointing more security. Still, doubts remain whether the I-League committee will make Mohammedan Sporting Ground one of the venues for the I-league.
The Black Panthers however will start their preparation for the I-league on 6th October at Bunkerhill Mohammedan Sporting sports campus in Gurgaon. The club has also bolstered its forward line by roping in the 32-year-old striker from Honduras Eddie Hernandez. The striker who represented the country in all age groups (under-20, under-21, under-23, and senior) also participated in the 2012 Olympics for Honduras.
