Warner hinted at a possible appearance in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, sparking rumours of a potential return.
David Warner, the Australian opener, has urged an investigation into the ball tampering allegations involving the unofficial test match between India A and Australia A in Mackay. The veteran player has accused Cricket Australia’s (CA), claiming the officials have "squashed" the matter "as quickly as possible.”
The issue emerged when, on the final day of the four-day test series, the umpire decided to change the ball after finding scratches in the ball. However, the CA has issued a statement affirming that the reason behind the scratches was unknown.
Recently, CA has lifted his captaincy ban. He is in a bit to get back on the Australian national team. The opener is going to test his luck with the Sydney Thunder in the upcoming Big Bash season.
After he got assigned with the Sydney Thunder, Warner stated, “Leading Sydney again this season means a lot to me. I’ve been with the team from the start, and now I’m returning as captain. It feels great to have the 'C' next to my name.”
Recently, Warner hinted at a possible appearance in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, sparking rumours of a potential return. Many believe that his participation in the Big Bash League is a strategy to stay in top form, fuelling speculation that he may postpone his retirement for a comeback against India.
