'We should be cautious, manipur is tough side'; says sujata

Bengal previously suffered a tough defeat against Manipur, but with the rematch tomorrow, they are determined to turn the tables against their fierce competitors.

The Bengal Women are not sitting idle after being qualified for the semi-finals of the 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship. The Bengal Women’s team is relentlessly pushing their boundaries, engaging in intense internal clashes to elevate their performance. 

Sujata Kar, the coach of the West Bengal Senior Women’s football team and also the IWL coach for Sreebhumi FC shared her insights on the team’s progress and upcoming matches in an exclusive conversation with Parallel Sports. 

While speaking about the match, she stated, “It's our hard work. The girls delivered an excellent performance in the match because of their relentless efforts in the field. They are in continuous practice.”

She spoke about her consistent efforts to drive the team toward improvement by addressing their past mistakes.

“There were certain areas where we fell short in the last match. Given the limited time, I’m focusing on helping them understand and improve through theoretical training.”

Conversing about the finals, she stated, “I am not setting my goal towards the finals yet. I am more focused on the upcoming match tomorrow. Manipur is a tough competitor.”
