Sudeshna Das, the wife of former national goalkeeper Gopal Das who represented East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting as well as Bengal has been suffering severe illness for last six months. She has to transplant her both the kidneys. 

Gopal who is an employee of West Bengal State Electricity (WBSEB) is running from pillar to post to accumulate the needed amount for the transplantation that might reach nearly Rs 50 lakhs. 

Sudheshna is only 36 years old and they have a nine-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. Gopal said, “I have started appealing to Kolkata football fraternity, my clubs. I would be thankful if any donor whose blood group and other conditions suit, or the people with some financial assistance come forward.
