Windsor Park, once famous for donkey-race, returned as a venue in the series against India after six years

Planning to make the national stadium in Windsor Park was decided in 1999 and it was completed in 2007.

Dominica's Windsor Park has returned as the venue for India's opening Test against West Indies in the upcoming series. This has raised controversy as the ground was used for horse-racing and donkey racing. It is now a multi-faced stadium. This has been termed as the national stadium as matches of both cricket board and football association generally take place at this ground. This apart, music festivals, finals of Calypso competition and events like Miss Dominica also happened here.

Planning to make the national stadium in Windsor Park was decided in 1999 and it was completed in 2007. In the next year, Dominica national team played their first match against Barbados on that pitch. It was the selection match for 2010 World Cup. The first test happened between India and West Indies there in the month of July in 2011. That match happened between West Indies and India and it was memorable for Ishant Sharma who took 5 wickets in the match.

No ODI match has taken place in Windsor Park after 2010 and no test match was played there after 2017.
