Senior advocate Haris Salve, on Thursday, agreed to represent Phogat at the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
The Court of Arbitration for Sports will hear ace Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat's plea against her disqualification at the Paris Olympics today, Friday.
In her appeal, Phogat also requested a joint silver as she was found overweight after she won the semi-final in Paris.
In a major development in Vinesh Phogat's court hearing against her Olympics disqualification, senior advocate Haris Salve, on Thursday, agreed to represent Phogat at the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
Salve has fought and won some of the key landmark cases of India. In 2017, he had represented Kulbhushan Jadhav case in which Pakistan court had sentenced the Indian national to death in charges of spying. Salve has also fought Ayodhya Dispute, Tata Sons vs Cyrus Mystry, Vodafone tax dispute,
The Indian contingent is trying its best to secure the best legal representation for Phogat for the hearing, scheduled at 1:30 pm, reported ANI.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said his government will felicitate Phogat like a medalist and will be offered the same reward that the state gives to Olympic Games silver medalists.
