Inam said he is thankful to get a coach like Isfaq Ahmed
He is already being called the best central midfielder in the ongoing I-League. His team Real Kashmir is in the race for the title in the ongoing I-league, standing in fourth position with 30 points from 16 matches so far.
He is Mohammad Inam. He lives in Srinagar. In the earlier days, Inam hailing from a joint family did not have enough support from his family members. His father, a garment shop owner, and mother tried to convince him to concentrate on his studies.
Still while studying at Burnhall School, Inam became passionate about the game. He used to kick footballs after watching elder students during the breaks at school.
During that phase, YouTube was a teacher. Inam used to absorb the videos of skills, speed, and shooting, and then practiced with a few local boys at the local ground to develop his technique.
Speaking over the phone from Aizawl en route to Hyderabad to take part in the I-League match against Sreenidi Deccan, Inam said, “I learned the basics from watching YouTube videos. Then at the junior level, I represented Real Kashmir FC, and Lonestar FC under a few coaches. But I am thankful to have a coach finally like Isfaq Ahmed sir.”
Inam explained that he has been learning a lot from Isfaq. "His style of training is completely different. He emphasizes trying to build up by playing small passes and excellent off-the-ball movement. More importantly, he can mix up with the players like a friend and can motivate us beautifully.”
Inam's dream footballer is Kevin De Bruyne. That might be the reason Inam has another dream of appearing for a selection trial at Manchester City. "I want to don a Man City jersey only because of Kevin De Bruyn. My dream will be fulfilled if I can meet him once," said the 23-year-old midfielder who revealed that defeating Mohammedan Sporting in the first leg of the ongoing I-league has been his most cherished moment so far.
Inam did not hesitate to disclose that he wants to win the I-League only for the club’s owner late Sandeep Chattoo. “He was not only our guardian. He brought the revolution in Kashmir football. Indian football also will miss him a lot. As a player, I can say we all want to win the I-league to dedicate him."
