Sudeep Pakrashi:
Following complaints submitted to the Fifa by the team’s former coach Andrey Chernyshov, the world soccer’s ruling body has sent an e-mail to Mohammedan Sporting, warning the club to ban its roping in foreign footballers during the transfer-window for three consecutive periods.
Chernyshov who left the Black-and-White brigade three months before the end of ISL last season lodged a complaint to the Fifa alleging against club administration for not clearing his dues.
The club’s senior vice-president Qamaruddin, when asked about the issue, explained, “Chernyshov left the team three months before the end of his contract. Then how could he demand a full salary and additional money also? Importantly, it is not our responsibility to clear his contracted dues. The company which brought him and made a four-year contract with him should come forward and clear his financial demands.”
Regarding Fifa’s transfer-window ban, the vice-president revealed, “Initially Fifa intimated to us about the ban for three transfer-windows. But after we explained to them about the situation it has reduced to two transfer-windows and if we can pay the penalty then the ban will be lifted.”
However, Mohammedan Sporting started training for the CFL Premier Division on Wednesday and according to Qamaruddin, the club has built up two teams where 35 footballers out of 50 have been selected from the state.
Mehrajuddin Wadoo is already contracted with the club for this season also. He is likely to join the training by next week and the club is simultaneously in search of his assistant for the CFL particularly.
Mehrajuddin however is committed to standing by the struggling cub administration despite the fact that he has not received his salary since joining the team as a coach at the end of last season.
